After intensive study, prayer, and flying to the area to conduct research and consult with local church leaders, senior pastor Dan Grider selected San Diego to birth a new church. In May of 1990, the Grider family
relocated from Kentucky to start a new church in North County. On Sunday, September 30, 1990 at 9:30 a.m. Daybreak held it's first service at the Plaza Camino Real Theater in Carlsbad.
After growing out of place after place for eight years, Daybreak's leadership felt God leading them to take a big step of faith. In the beginning of 1998 Daybreak announced plans to purchase and develop land for a
church home.
Through God's blessings and congregational support, Daybreak in now developing its land. Services recently began being held at Aviara Oaks Middle School, just 400 yards from our land. Daybreaker's now have the
opportunity to drive by the land every Sunday and thank God for the awesome things He has done throughout the life of His church.
Daybreak by design is a church for those looking for a positive and exciting place to experience spiritual growth. Pastor Dan has purposely developed a seeker-friendly strategy that Daybreak employs. We hope you can
become a part of Daybreak Community Church and a part of our future.
