Building Update

We will soon begin construction on the permanent home for Daybreak Community Church. Our new home will be located on the corner of Ambrosia and Poinsettia Lanes in the community of Aviara.
 

Recent Developments:

• We are presently going through the 1st of 3 grading permit approvals and the 1st review of the finished building plans
• California Coastal Commission has approved a Conditional Use Permit.
   
• Building plans have been submitted to the Building Department. The review process is expected to take 2 weeks.
  
• We are preparing to go to bid on the construction project.
   
• Rick Van Otterloo has been appointed Project Superintentent.
   
• Charlie Floyd and Floyd Construction has been selected as the project management company.
   
• Design Concepts has been selected as a consultant on interior finishes and designs.

Other Developments:

• We closed escrow on both land parcels. We now have eleven and half acres of land for development.
   
• Master site plan and initial elevation drawings have been completed. Plans have been approved by the Aviara Homeowner.
   
• A note: This is the first land approved for a church in Carlsbad for many, many years. Our dream of building a new church is moving forward on schedule.

Building Fund Revenue  Update

Total Rec'd. to  Date: 687,818       Budget to Date: 790,917

Based upon the total commitments of $1,092,947 to be given through 03/01/01.To achieve this total by that date a  monthly giving of $22,507 is needed. This original amount was committed so that we could build on the land that was clear of any debt.

This information is being provided by the Finance Team to keep everyone informed and current with the Building Fund Revenues . Our  goal is to obtain the revenues committed and retire the land debt and the developmental costs of designing and building our church campus. We are counting  on our members to honor their commitments and encouraging those who were not part of the original commitments to contribute to our Building Funds Program  ("It's Time!" Campaign).

We are proceeding with the final design of the building, obtaining approvals from the city, and obtaining the necessary permits  along with a multitude of other details before actual construction can begin. If all goes as anticipated we should begin grading this November with actual  construction to follow.

As we near the actual start of construction we'll  be borrowing additional money to fund the project. These funds will be raised via a lucrative bond offering which will first be offered to Daybreak members and their families before the general public. You'll be hearing more about this  in the near future. These are exciting times at Daybreak!
