Community

The purpose of Daybreak's Small Group Ministry is to build community within the Daybreak family. Through small groups our vision is to provide an environment in which participants can establish and nurture strong and meaningful relationships based on personal affinity and/or shared spiritual goals. We emphasize individual spiritual growth and discipleship as well as mutual accountability, support and encouragement.

Groups are not limited to members of daybreak, so they can also serve an evangelistic function. All of these values can be pursued within the content of a formal Bible study, biblically oriented topical study, or personal recovery group. Daybreak's goal through small groups is to accomplish Jesus' command to "love one another".

Let us not give up meeting together... but let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the day drawing near. Hebrews 10:25

The importance of Community Small Groups at Daybreak cannot be overstated. It is within our small groups that much of the church life is lived out. Each week, people gather in homes throughout North county in groups from two to twenty. As they do, relationships are formed through which people are encouraged and God is able to do awesome things.

Small Groups provide the opportunity for every person at any level on his/her spiritual journey to share, learn, pray, study, worship and grow as an individual and together. All the small groups are open to be visited at any time, making it easy to become involved whenever one desires.

Remember what Christ taught and let His words enrich your lives and make you wise: teach them to each other and sing them our in psalms and hymns.. Singing to the Lord with thankful hearts. Colossians 3:16

Small Groups are where our lives touch on a more personal level as we share our needs and become a group that encourages one another. One of the greatest means of encouragement is through prayer. An important avenue of the prayer life of Daybreak takes place within small groups. Not only is time spent thanking god for how He is working in our lives, but in this safe environment needs are shared and more specifically they are prayer for.

An important part of the small group is studying the Bible together. Daybreak places a strong emphasis on practical application of God's Word in our lives. A relaxed atmosphere provides an opportunity for those gathered in small groups to seek God's Word together so that spiritual growth is encouraged and nurtured. This enables each individual to become and effective part of the church body.

Day after day, in (church) and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news... Acts 10:42

Daybreak is not a church with Small Groups, but a church of Small Groups. Small Groups are the primary place where our committed members experience community, learn to  know God, learn to know His ways, and learn to minister one to another. Please feel free to contact Pastor Harold at 931-7773 for more information on our Small Groups. The following is a list of some of our current small groups.
